Requirements for Progression from Third to Fourth Year
For the 2025 Electronic Information and Biomedical Engineering study model, progression requires at least 104 credits from courses offered in Years 1 through 3, together with specified category and course requirements.
Minimum credits and required categories
To progress from the third year to the fourth year, you must earn at least 104 credits from courses offered in Years 1 through 3 and meet the required conditions for each category. The progression credits do not include free-elective credits. The required category credits include 12 credits in human formation, 6 in English, 2 in engineering ethics, 4 in mathematics, 6 in natural science and technology, 2 in information studies, and 23 in common courses for your own study field. You must also include 18 credits from the main course and 5 credits from the secondary course selected within your own study field. All of these conditions must be met to progress to the fourth year.
Requirements for different secondary-course plans
The progression requirements for a secondary-course study plan depend on the study field chosen as your main course. If your secondary course is in your own study field, the requirement for common courses in your own study field is 23 credits, the main-course specialization requirement is 18 credits, and the secondary-course specialization requirement is 5 credits. If your secondary course is in another study field, the requirement for common courses in your own study field is 19 credits. The applicable progression requirements therefore differ according to the study-field arrangement.
