Mutual Aid Fund Short-Term Loan: Eligibility, Amount, Hours, and Repayment

This page explains who may qualify for a Mutual Aid Fund short-term loan, the loan amount and availability, handling hours, and repayment rules.

Eligibility and permitted uses

The application form must give a specific and detailed reason for the loan. The Student Welfare section checks whether the stated reason qualifies for lending. For the 2026 academic year, loans are limited to urgent matters directly related to academic study. Casual borrowing that goes against the purpose of the Mutual Aid Fund is not accepted.

Loan amount and availability

The short-term loan amount is a flat ¥10,000. A daily limit applies to the number of students who can receive a loan, but the number of available loans per day is not stated.

Handling hours

For the 2025 academic year, short-term loan handling hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–19:00, and Saturday, 9:00–17:00. During periods outside the class term in the 2026 academic year, these hours may be shortened or changed to match the office's hours.

Repayment requirements and consequences

The loan period is no more than one month, and the repayment due date must be strictly observed. Students are asked to make a repayment plan before borrowing. If repayment is late, future short-term loans are prohibited and a late fee is incurred.
