Eligibility for Scholarships and Tuition Fee Reductions

This page outlines the 2026 eligibility criteria at the Tokyo Senju Campus for household income, number of supported children, assets, and attendance.

Household income and supported children

For the Faculty of Future Science in 2026, household financial eligibility includes students from households that are exempt from resident tax or equivalent to tax-exempt households, corresponding to Categories I through III. Households supporting three or more children are also included in the household criteria without an income limit.

Asset limits

For one- or two-child households, total assets must be below 50 million yen for both the grant scholarship and the tuition fee reduction. For households supporting three or more children, the asset limit is below 50 million yen for the grant scholarship and below 300 million yen for the tuition fee reduction. These asset criteria apply to the Faculty of Future Science and the Faculty of Engineering at the Tokyo Senju Campus in 2026.

Attendance requirement

Students may be excluded from the grant scholarship and tuition fee reduction if their class attendance is 50% or lower or if they otherwise demonstrate low motivation to study.
