For the 2025 academic year, this page explains when borrowed scholarship eligibility may be cancelled and whether the borrowed scholarship must be repaid immediately in full.
When borrowed scholarship eligibility is cancelled
For students in the Faculty of Engineering in the 2025 academic year, borrowed scholarship eligibility is cancelled when any of the following applies and the student is determined to be ineligible: the student receives disciplinary action for violating university regulations; the student withdraws from the university or is removed from the register; or the student engages in conduct considered inappropriate for a borrowed scholarship recipient.
For students in the Faculty of Future Science in the 2025 academic year, eligibility is cancelled when the student withdraws from the university or is removed from the register, receives disciplinary action for violating university regulations, or engages in conduct considered inappropriate for a borrowed scholarship recipient, and is determined to be ineligible.
Repayment after cancellation
For students in the Faculty of Engineering in the 2025 academic year, a person whose borrowed scholarship eligibility is cancelled for the reasons described above must immediately repay the full amount of the borrowed scholarship.
The same immediate full-repayment requirement is stated for students in the Faculty of Future Science and the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, at Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2025 academic year: anyone whose eligibility is cancelled must immediately repay the full amount of the borrowed scholarship.
