Academic Progress Interviews
For the 2026 academic year, this page explains when academic progress interviews may be conducted and how they support students facing difficulties with progression or graduation.
When an interview may be required
For students whose academic progress has not reached a certain standard, an academic progress interview is conducted. In particular, an interview is conducted for students who earned 0 credits in the most recent semester, or whose GPA was below 1.0 for two consecutive semesters. During the semester, interviews may also be conducted for students who have not registered for courses, whose attendance cannot be confirmed for an extended period, or whom the department otherwise considers to require guidance.
Purpose and department-specific criteria
These interviews are intended to support early improvement in learning activities when a student is having difficulty progressing or graduating. A department may also establish its own criteria separately and conduct academic progress interviews under those criteria.
