Make-Up Examination Eligibility and Application Procedure

This page explains the eligibility requirements, application periods, required documents, fees, and examination-ticket rules for make-up examinations under the specified faculty and academic-year rules.

Eligibility and required procedure

A make-up examination is considered only when the student meets the eligibility requirements for the relevant semester-end or term-end examination and completes the prescribed procedure within the period designated by the faculty office. A prescribed procedure is required for students who wish to take a make-up examination. For the 2026 Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, and the 2025 Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, at Tokyo Senju Campus, no second make-up examination is held if a student is absent from the make-up examination, even for an unavoidable reason. The 2026 Faculty of System Design and Technology also requires the prescribed procedure.

Application period, submission, and supporting documents

The application must be submitted to the faculty administrative office within the period designated by the faculty. For the 2026 Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, submit the make-up examination request together with the relevant proof documents to the Tokyo Senju Campus Administration Office, Academic Affairs, during the period designated when the Academic Assessment Implementation Guidelines are announced. The same submission instructions apply to the 2026 Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus in the related application rule. For the 2026 Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus and the 2026 Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, the application must be submitted within the period specified by the faculty administrative office.

Fees and examination tickets

The prescribed examination fee must be submitted with the make-up examination application. As a general rule, the student must receive an examination ticket. These requirements apply to the 2026 Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, the 2026 Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, the 2025 Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus, and the 2026 Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus.
