Make-Up Examinations: Availability and Examination Rules

Learn when a make-up examination may be offered and which examination rules apply, depending on your academic year, campus, and faculty.

Whether a make-up examination will be held

For the 2026 and 2025 academic years at the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of System Design and Technology, a make-up examination may be held. The course instructor decides whether to offer it, so submitting a make-up examination application does not guarantee that an examination will be conducted. For the 2025 academic year, if you miss a final written examination for a truly unavoidable reason, such as sudden illness, submitting an application may result in a make-up examination. Whenever possible, take the academic examination on its scheduled date.

Rules for taking a make-up examination in 2026

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of System Design and Technology, the rules for taking a make-up examination are based on the rules for taking an academic examination in section 4-1(3).

Rules for taking a make-up examination in 2025

For the 2025 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of Engineering, the rules for taking a make-up examination are the same as the rules for taking an academic examination in section 4-1(3).

Make-up examinations at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus

For the 2025 academic year at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus Faculty of Science and Technology, the course instructor decides how a make-up examination is conducted. A make-up examination may not be offered.
