Withdrawal Procedure: Approvals and Required Documents

This page explains the application, approval meetings, signatures, and document submission required to withdraw from the university.

Complete the application and obtain approval

Students who wish to withdraw because of illness, injury, or another reason must submit a withdrawal application and obtain permission. Depending on the faculty and academic year, the application must include the student ID card. In the 2025 Faculty of Engineering procedure, meet first with the student advisor and then with the department chair, and obtain approval through their seals on the withdrawal application. The same meeting order and approval by seal apply to the 2026 Faculty of Systems Design and Technology and the 2025 Faculty of Future Science procedures. For the 2026 Faculty of Engineering procedure, the student and guarantor must sign and seal the withdrawal application, followed by meetings with the student advisor and department chair in that order.

Submit the required documents

Submit the required documents to the Student Welfare Office counter. Where the procedure requires it, submit the student ID card with the documents. For withdrawal because of illness or injury, attach a doctor's medical certificate. The 2025 Faculty of Engineering, 2026 Faculty of Systems Design and Technology, and 2025 Faculty of Future Science procedures require the student ID card; the 2026 Faculty of Science and Technology procedure specifies submission of the required documents and a doctor's medical certificate for withdrawal due to illness or injury.

For the 2026 Faculty of Engineering, Second Division procedure, failure to complete the withdrawal procedure may result in removal from enrollment.
