Student ID Card Requirements

Students must carry their student ID card and present or display it according to the rules for their academic year, campus, and faculty.

Carry and present your student ID

Students receive a student ID card upon enrollment and must carry it at all times. You must present it whenever requested by a university faculty or staff member. For the 2025 academic year at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the card must also be presented when you are eligible to use it as proof of identity, commuting eligibility, or student-discount eligibility.

Wear your student ID on campus

The display requirement depends on your faculty and academic year. In the 2025 academic year, students in the Faculty of Future Science must wear their student ID around their neck while on campus, except in specified situations such as experiments. Students in the Faculty of Engineering Second Division and the Faculty of System Design and Technology must place the card in the designated strap case and wear it around their neck on campus, with the same exception for specified situations such as experiments. The same neck-worn designated strap requirement applies to the Faculty of Engineering in 2025 and the Faculty of Future Science in 2026. The designated strap's color and shape identify authorized entrants.
