Annual Scholarship Eligibility Review

When eligibility is reviewed

The scholarship category assigned when you first receive the scholarship is not necessarily maintained until graduation. Academic performance and household income are reviewed once each year. This annual review applies to scholarship recipients in the 2025 academic year at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the School of Science and Technology, and in the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the School of Future Science.

Attendance and other exclusion criteria

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, Division II, a student is not eligible if their attendance rate is 50% or lower, or if they show low motivation to study. A student is also not eligible if any of the matters listed under Academic Ability Criterion 2 applies.

Academic progress requirements

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, Division II, the cumulative GPA ranking must be in the top half or higher of the year-specific ranking for the relevant department or academic field. Eligibility is also excluded when it is certain that the student cannot graduate within the four-year period of study. A leave of absence is not included in this period.

Eligibility is excluded when the total number of earned credits is 50% or less of the standard number of credits. Only credits that count toward graduation requirements are included in the earned-credit total. The standard number of credits is calculated as: required credits for graduation ÷ 4 years × the student's previous academic year's year level.
