The conditions for copying materials held by the library without the copyright holder’s permission differ by academic year, campus, and faculty.

Conditions for copying materials in 2026

For students in the Faculty of Engineering, Division II, at Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2026 academic year, the main conditions for copying library materials without the copyright holder’s permission are that the copying is for research purposes, only part of the work is copied, and no more than one copy is provided to each person. The one-copy-per-person condition also applies to students in the Faculty of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus in 2026.

Copyright basis stated for 2025

For the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the 2025 academic year, the information states that, under Article 31(1)(1) of the Copyright Act, the library may copy materials it holds without the copyright holder’s permission.
