How Course Credits Are Calculated
For the 2025 academic year, this page explains the study-hour standard for one credit and the class-hour ranges used for lectures, seminars, and practical courses.
Credit calculation standards
One credit is based on course content requiring 45 hours of study. In principle, the number of credits is calculated according to the course's method of instruction. For lectures and seminars, one credit corresponds to 15 to 30 hours of class instruction. For experiments, practical training, drafting, and practical skills courses, one credit corresponds to 30 to 45 hours of class instruction.
