When Supplementary and Make-Up Classes Are Held

Supplementary or make-up classes may be arranged when classes are insufficient or learning objectives have not been achieved. Their timing and announcement method depend on the academic year, campus, and faculty.

When supplementary or make-up classes are arranged

Supplementary or make-up classes may be held when the number of class sessions is insufficient, including because of cancelled classes, or when the instructor determines that the learning objectives have not been achieved.

For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, supplementary-class information is generally announced through UNIPA. At Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the course instructor gives instructions about the make-up schedule. The possibility of supplementary classes also applies to the 2025 Faculty of Systems Design and Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus and the 2026 Faculty of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus.

Possible class times

Supplementary classes may be held at periods different from the usual class periods. This is stated for the 2025 Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Systems Design and Engineering, and for the 2026 Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Systems Design and Engineering, and Faculty of Engineering II at Tokyo Senju Campus.

For the 2025 Faculty of Science and Engineering at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, make-up classes are held on weekdays during the fifth period or on Saturdays, at a time the instructor judges will not interfere with regular classes or university or faculty events.

For the 2026 Faculty of Systems Design and Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, intensive classes or supplementary classes may also be held on days when regular classes are not scheduled.
